Northern Michigan Fall Wedding at The Highlands

When a Northern Michigan fall is a design in itself.
You never know what you’re going to get up north. Sometimes it’s rain in July, sometimes it’s unseasonably cold temps in August, but when the leaves are almost completely turned, and the sun still feels warm when you’re in your short sleeves, you know you’ve hit Northern Michigan Gold.
Initial Vision to Timeless Design
When Katie and I first went over the wedding ideas, the design leaned heavily into very traditional fall elements, with pumpkins and vibrant fall tones taking center stage. After refining the vision, we shifted the focus to creating an elegant atmosphere that had the definite feel of fall, without overwhelming the design. The result was a celebration that was quintessentially fall, yet timeless and sophisticated, perfectly reflecting Katie and Joe’s end vision.
Pumpkin Patch Perfection
For their fall wedding, Katie and Joe embraced the charm of the season with an interactive pumpkin patch as their escort card display. Instead of the traditional card table, we came up with the idea to have a curated array of miniature pumpkins with attached velvet ribbon adorned with guests' names and table assignments. AR Pontius created a pathway that guests walked both inside, and around. Their own little personalized little fall-in-New-York moment.
A Vendor Dream Team
I couldn’t have pulled it off without the absolutely confidence I had with AR Pontius, knowing that a change or idea we had would be executed with the upmost elegance. Or the minute updates and changes sent to Event Theory, where everything came together better than we even saw on paper.
So thankful to have been a part of this day, with this couple, and with this family.
