I love when both couples both take part in the planning process and have things they want to share with each other, and their guests. From the moment we had our first call and shared our Chicago loves (hello Mariano’s!) I knew that Cali and Shane’s Michigan Barn Wedding would be one of my favorites.

This wedding was an absolute full circle for myself and my business, and what a couple to mark this milestone with! Beauty guru Something Blue Stylists was my artist at my own wedding, and I was so fortunate to be able to work side by side at our first wedding together.

Eldina from Inna Kova Photography was one of the first photographers on my preferred list and with good reason. She captured every emotion, and with Cali and Shane’s group, there were all of them! Originally moving from Chicago, where Cali and Shane now live, I loved talking about my love of Mariano’s, and that tourist trap that is Portillo’s. (You hate to love it.)

Between the bridesmaids rapping their toast to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and the caricature artist drawing during cocktail hour, Cali and Shane went above and beyond to entertain their guests. Cali’s gorgeously ornate dress was the forefront of her blush bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen fashion forward floral ties. All taking place at the one and only Gable Hill Barn.

The day was perfect. Right after their first look there was a light sprinkle, just long enough to take cute clear umbrella photos, before it was clear for the rest of the evening. Cali and Shane made my job so enjoyable and I know that if we still lived in Chicago, we’d be meeting at Big Star in Wicker Park for tacos right now!
