A Cultural Crystal Mountain Wedding

Mountains, chair lifts & bears, oh my! For real…bears! Chelsea and Mike’s Michigan mountain wedding took the natural landscape of Crystal Mountain and instilled their own cultural and elegant elements all throughout the day.

This alpine affair was swoon worthy from the start. Chelsea’s wedding seasoned style paired her versatile pom-pom adorned gown with her ladies’ burgundy velvet bridesmaid dresses, and everything came together flawlessly! Her vintage gold elements showcased all the added elegant details.

Guests loaded onto the chairlift at the base of the mountain to be brought up to the peak for the ceremony. If you ever want to see a challenging timeline, just factor in chairlift rides! While Chelsea and Mike said their vows, unbeknownst to themselves or their guests, a BIG furry wedding crasher tried to grab himself a seat! A black bear had run over the hill behind the ceremony arch. Crystal Mountain was well prepared and had their crew out in an instant to make sure all guests were safe (no one knew until we told them the next day! How’s that for a wedding story?)

I don’t know what I was more excited for, seeing the bear, or watching the bridal party break out into the Armenian cultural dance! Before the music started playing, the group had one more practice run behind the scenes, then it was kick steps and hand flips!

Chelsea’s dad, who is now one of my favorite people, brought everyone to tears with his speech. The bride and groom took a sunset chairlift ride while overlooking their wedding tent at the base of the mountain. Guests played bocce and bags, had cocktails by the lodge and danced outside as the sun went down. Chelsea has extensive knowledge of weddings and we couldn’t’ be more honored to have played a part in her own.
