Architectural Wedding in Chicago

When an award winning event planner says she’s getting married, and may need some help, you somewhat panic and think “how can I make this day perfect for someone who literally does this for a living?” But you never turn down your high school gymnastic teammate (Go Bears!)

I can count on 1 hand the amount of weddings I have done for friends and family (I can count only 3 fingers to be honest.) And that is because the lines can become gray between giving professional advice, and wanting to be all fun and games. I knew with Kelsey’s background that she would be all business with the planning, and all fun on the day.

The architecture in Chicago cannot be topped. Kelsey and Jordan’s wedding took elements from both inside the buildings and outside in the city to create an amazing day that told a story. The soft draping inside The Builder’s BLDG was the perfect compliment to the structured pillars and balconies. Kelsey’s grand entrance was breathtaking as she took the marble stairs that were perfectly centered to the aisle.

I’ve had catered food at weddings before, yanno, once or twice (or 100x.) This was one of the BEST plated meals I have ever had. Not to mention the choose-your-own-filling passed donut course. (When in Chicago!)

By the end of the night, if I wasn’t telling the groom’s twin brother to be somewhere he didn’t need to be, or talking about beam routines with Kelsey’s dad, I was actually out on the dance floor, apron and all, giving some of my favorite people from my adolescence all the hugs. I can’t thank Kelsey and her family enough for trusting us with their special day, and am so thankful I was able to be a small part of it. LC!
