Blue Dress Barn Wedding
9.29.2019
Everyone loves a Michigan barn wedding, especially when it’s at the Blue Dress Barn. Covered in ivy and nestled away in the heart of Benton Harbor, the old dairy barn has been refined to host a large number of guests in a comfortable garden setting.
Weather is always a factor when planning outdoor weddings, and Michigan weather is in a league of its own. For Juliana and Hunter, the day played out perfectly, raining a bit in the morning so Josh Rexford could capture some beautiful slow-motion shots, before clearing up right when the bridal party was done getting ready. It was like timeline magic.
While the girls freshened up in the little lower cottage, the boys had the vintage airstream all to themselves, before meeting between the side-by-side silos in front of the white-washed barn.
Cocktail hour was held outside under the canopy of trees before heading inside the barn draped in lights. Juliana and Hunter’s rustic elegance merged perfectly between their gold accents and the natural wood of the barn. Hanging greenery on chandeliers hovered above the couple as the overhead lights softly twinkled during the first dance.
When the dance floor started hoppin’, hot cider and donuts were brought to the fire pits within the gardens next to the barn, while the scent of lavender followed guests home in little hand-tied bags. We’re so happy the rain cooperated with us and we were able to go with Juliana and Hunter’s perfect wedding vision!
