Gone are the times of squeezing you and one other person into a box for a blurry thumbnail photo! We sat down with Megan of Smitten Booth to learn about the perks of  incorporating a photo booth in your wedding reception.

While getting through the wedding ceremony can be a little on the stressful side for some, the reception is usually the time to let down your hair (figuratively, of course – you know that updo took hours to create) and to have a blast. One of the best ways to get your reception rollin’ is to have a photo booth present for your guests to enjoy!

My fiancé Dylan and I own Smitten Booth. So you’re talking to myself the entire time, and we then show up to your wedding. This is the person you’ve been talking to, not just a booth attendant. I know how to run the booth, I know the set up, if there was an issue, I would know how to fix it. I think that gives people a sense of security and I just want to give them a good experience.

01. What is the benefit of having a photo booth at your wedding?

It gives people something to do. For the people who don’t like to dance, and there’s only so much mingling you can do, the next best thing is to hop in the photo booth!

Hop in with a bunch of people you may not even know, and sometimes it ends up being the greatest part of the night. We’ll even have a line of people for the photo booth and less on the dance floor!

02. What is Modern Concept and Open Air?

You’re not enclosed by a curtain, which is generally what people think of when they hear “photo booth.” Sometimes they’ll look at our set up and say “what is this?” It’s the photo booth! It’s fun because you can fit 20 people in the space instead of just 4-5 tiny faces. 4×6 prints instead of 2×6 and we have a high quality DSLR camera, not just a web cam.

03. What are your favorite props to use?

I like our hot dog hat!

The guests love the rubber animal masks like the horse or unicorn head.

04. Are the guests able to see their photos once they’re taken?

Yes! There’s an iPad that’s in our premium package, which is our social media booth kiosk. The prints go right from the camera to the iPad and you can scroll through and see all the individual pictures, not just the ones from the print. Then you can pick and choose your photos and email, text or post directly to Facebook.

Just remember your Facebook password!

People love the text option, because then you can save those photos right away.

05. What is your favorite photo booth you have done that was NOT for a wedding?

Founders! We’ve done their employee party, 20th anniversary party and their release party for Solid Gold. Coming up we’ll also be doing a photo booth for Founder’s Fest.

It was the best feeling when I was in contact with a bride a lot this past December. When I got to the wedding, she came over and introduced herself and I said “I’m Megan,” and she said “OH! Megan!” and gave me a big hug since we had been talking that whole time.

I think that gives people a sense of security and I just want to give them a good experience.

Smitten Booth would love to help create and capture beautiful memories of your wedding today!
